Corn Silage and Other Poems is a lovely book of poetry and
pictures of farming and outdoors life in rural Wisconsin, written by Robert
Owens. It is especially poignant for me for I, as a boy, milked those
cows, pulled that silage cart, swung those tobacco axes, and hung that
tobacco (I preferred the peak). Though the lines of poetry seems
especially familiar to me, anyone, I believe, can imagine themselves a boy
on a farm and the wonder and emotion of such an experience.
Owens brings this to life.
